The sign standards have been written to assist architects, engineers, other design professionals, contractors and U of M staff in understanding the preferences of the University of Minnesota in the development, maintenance and repair of its facilities. It is understood that the basic minimum requirements described within these standards are in addition to the applicable codes and requirements.

These construction standards are the most current, 2002 edition.
